The Lake County Retired Teachers Association (LCRTA) will hold their next meeting Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Mama Roberto’s at 8658 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH 44060. The social time is 11:00 a.m. followed by the program at 11:30 a.m. This month Bill Siegferth from Summit County Retired Teachers Association will address the group.
A buffet lunch will then be served which includes lemon chicken with white wine lemon sauce, scalloped potatoes, green beans, fresh baked eggplant parm with mozzarella cheese, homemade marinara sauce, tossed salad with Italian or Ranch dressing, rolls and butter, cookie tray for dessert, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
During the business meeting members will be asked to vote on proposed revisions to the organization’s constitution.
The Salvation Army is this month’s Community Service organization. Members are asked to donate non-perishable food items. Checks written to “Salvation Army” to purchase meat for the meals served, will also be accepted.
The collection of pull tabs from aluminum beverage cans continues, as LCRTA will deliver the pull tabs to McDonald House. Please bring all donations to the meeting.
LCRTA is an active organization that welcomes new members. All retired teachers under STRS of Ohio, or an out-of-state retirement system, are invited to attend the luncheon and are eligible for membership. Associate memberships are available to others interested in the objectives of the chapter and of public education. The Lake County Retired Teachers Association meets five times per year for luncheon meetings.
Reservations for the luncheon must be made in advance, by August 29, 2025. A check payable to “LCRTA” for $19 per person is to be mailed to Karen Sawitke at 9399 Ridgeside Drive, Mentor, OH, 44060. Parking and entrance is in the back of the building.
LCRTA is currently searching for active teachers who would like financial assistance in their classrooms thru Teacher Grants and the Viriginia Mlakar Enrichment Fund.
