Kenneth “Ron” Ronald Ellenberger, 82, of Hiram passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Middlefield. Ron was born on August 8, 1935 in Hiram, Ohio, the son of Kenneth Walter and Alta Mildred Rood Ellenberger.
Ron and Joanne Shaffer Ellenberger were united in marriage on October 6, 1956 at Troy Baptist Church where they were long time members. They raised their four children in Hiram.
Ron was employed as a mechanic by the Portage County Engineers.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Cherished memories of Ron will be carried on by his wife of more than 61 years, Joanne, sons Kenneth R. Ellenberger of Hiram, Kirk (Brenda) Ellenberger of Windham, daughters Denise (David) Trebing of Hiram, Renee (Russell) Clark of Garrettsville, brothers Stanley Ellenberger of Hiram, Roger (Mary Ann) Ellenberger of Cleveland, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Wallace Ellenberger.
Family and friends may gather on Friday May 18 from 10 – 11 AM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls where a service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Hiram Cemetery.
