John F. Seals, 88, of Newton Falls, OH, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024. He was born in Greene County, PA, on April 16, 1936, to the late John W. and Dorothy (Fischer) Seals.  To his siblings, John was known as “Jack”. His friends called him “Beanie”, and to his grandkids, he was “Pap”. 

He attended Jefferson-Morgan High school in Jefferson, PA, and served in the US Army as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne.  In October of 1960, John married Karen (Martin) Seals with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. John was a Maintenance Technician by trade, retiring from the Chrysler Plant in Twinsburg. When he was not working, John enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, attending country music concerts, and above all, spending time with family. In retirement he attended his grandkid’s sporting events, spent time on his boat with family, rooted for his favorite NASCAR drivers, and cheered for the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

John will be deeply missed by his wife Karen; daughter, Sherri Collins; son, John Seals; grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Zuelch, Tiffany (Jeff) Scherer, John (Harlie) Seals, Mitchell (Jenna) Collins, and Kyle Collins; great grandchildren, Dylan, Jameson, and Charles; sisters, Donna Huffman, Judy (Larry) Campbell, Becky (Pete) Walker, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kay Nowlin, Sue-Ellen Kingan, and Rosalyn Newlon; son-in law, Thomas Collins, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Seals.  

Per John’s wishes, he is to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date; please periodically check www.carlsonfuneralhomes.com for updates. Care for John was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
