James Michael Carr

122

James Michael Carr, known affectionately by friends and family as Jim, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2024, in Garrettsville, Ohio. Born on May 2, 1964, in Warren, Ohio, Jim’s jovial spirit and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered throughout his sixty years of life.

Jim was the beloved husband of Marilyn Carr and a devoted father to two daughters, Kelly (Josh) Payne and Lori Austin. His presence as a family man was characterized by his unwavering support, humor, and boundless love. He was a cherished brother to Fran (Jack) Rex, Sylvia (Bill) Jackson, Martha Molnar, Ellen (Bob) Harcletode, Robert (Heidi) Carr, and the late Barbara Humphreys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Lohr Carr, whose values and love shaped the remarkable man he became.

A proud graduate of Chalker High School, Jim’s work ethic and skills led him to a fulfilling career as a CNC machinist.

Jim’s passions were as genuine as his smile. A die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, he never lost hope in his team and cherished every moment spent cheering them on. His enthusiasm for NASCAR was equally fervent, as the thrill of the race and the roar of the engines captured his imagination.

Those who knew Jim would describe him as funny, loving, and friendly—a man who could light up a room with his humor and warm any heart with his kindness. His ability to forge friendships was unmatched, and his laughter was contagious. Jim’s sense of humor and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As we remember Jim, we celebrate a life lived with joy, love, and a touch of playful mischief. His legacy is one of compassion, laughter, and an unshakeable zest for life that inspired everyone around him. While we mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, we take solace in the countless happy memories he has left us.
