James Centric, 74, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on August 9, 2020. He entered this world on January 15, 1946, in Youngstown, OH, born to Louis and Irene Centric.
He was a 1964 graduate of Windham High School. Jim served in the Navy from 1966 to 1972, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and a proud member and former Commander of the Windham American Legion, Post #674. He retired from Kent State University as a Senior Electrician.
Jim was a persistent fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an avid golfer, beer aficionado, and competent wine connoisseur. He had a jovial personality that could make you feel instantly like a friend, a smile that lit up his face, and was the King of One Liners and Witty Comebacks. Jim gave his all to his family and friends; He had a boundless ability to love unconditionally and will always be a reminder to never take ourselves too seriously.
He is survived by his partner of 13 years, Suzanne Livengood, daughter, Jami (Kevin) Collins, stepchildren, Alicia (Randy) Turner, Nathaniel (Julia) Corl, Shannon (Chad Hawkins) Livengood, Samantha (Benjamin) Bartley, and his faithful Miniature Schnauzer, Ashton. Proud and loving grandfather to Finn Collins, Grant and Ryan Turner, Aiden and Annabelle Corl, and Alexa and Alayna Hawkins. He is also survived by sister, Irene Gano, brother, Robert “Max” Centric, and numerous loving nephews, and nieces.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Louis and Irene Centric, and his brother, Louis “Tyke” Centric.
Visitation for Jim was held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8382 Center St. Garrettsville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 9736 E. Center St., Windham Ohio with Fr. Jim Lang presiding. Burial followed at Windham Township Cemetery.
