JAG students earn keys to success

1007

Leadership, Achievement, Character and Service are the four pillars of the National Junior Beta Club.  In a ceremony held on April 4, 2024, in the Iva Walker Auditorium, twenty-five new students were inducted into the James A. Garfield Middle School Chapter.  They were recognized by their teachers for having upheld the ideals of Beta Club. They also met all of the requirements of membership by achieving a gpa of 3.8 or higher(3.70 if they were in more than two advanced classes) and completing 10 hours of community service.  At the ceremony, students were escorted by one the staff and met at the front of the stage by a previously inducted 8th grade member.  There they were presented with their lanyard and Beta Club key.  They were then congratulated by Superintendent, Mr. Ted Lysiak and Middle School Principal, Mr. Tom Bartz before being sworn in.  It was a great evening for those students to be honored in front of family, friends, Administration and Middle School staff for their Academic Achievements.

After the ceremony, the MVP Organization, provided a reception complete with cake, punch, and several photo opportunities.  Those students really made the JAG Family proud! In the weeks since, those students along with the previous members, continued to accrue service hours.  So it is that at this time, the Middle School would like to announce that those students have logged in over 1,000 hours of service to their school and community.
