1238

The League of Women Voters of Northern Portage County invites members of the community to Meet the Candidates Night 2023 – Garrettsville Area (Garrettsville, Nelson, Windham, Freedom). The event will be held at Charles C. Klamer Professional Development Center on the James A Garfield Schools campus, 10207 State Route 88, Garrettsville, 44231, starting at 6:30 pm on October 10th.

This year’s event will follow a face2face candidate forum format. Community members will be seated at tables while candidates will be rotated to present their message and answer voter questions. This will allow for all candidates present to participate fully in meeting and engaging with their constituents. Candidates will also have time to make brief remarks to all who are present.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. LWV-Northern Portage County covers the communities of Aurora, Mantua, Hiram, Garrettsville, Nelson and Freedom.
