JAG Historical Society Reflects on Christmas Walk Success and Prepares for Future Events

65

The James A. Garfield Historical Society convened Nov. 18, 2024, to celebrate the success of the recent Christmas Walk and address upcoming projects and events.

Members praised the community’s involvement in the holiday event, particularly the Village’s efforts to enhance decorations. Special thanks were extended to Randy and his team for their contributions. Lunches at St. Ambrose Church received positive feedback, and attendees commended the variety and decor of the homes on the tour. Financially, the event was a success across all areas.

Looking ahead, society members discussed improvements for the 2026 Christmas Walk to build on this year’s achievements.

In other business, the group addressed several topics, including:

Repairs to the time capsule monument; creating a maintenance list to address potential issues, a task assigned to the board; plans to schedule speakers for future programs; considering a repeat of the Oral History presentation; exploring the feasibility of a storage shed.

The society’s annual Christmas party is set for Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at The Mill in downtown Garrettsville. The event is open to the public, including homeowners who participated in the Christmas Walk. Attendees will be responsible for their own meals and are encouraged to bring holiday cheer.
