Garrettsville – With the uncertainty of the destination of the Covid-19 pandemic, the James A Garfield Historical Society has reluctantly decided to cancel this years’ Christmas Walk.
This would have been the Society’s 20th Walk. The slogan was to be “We Celebrate Our 20th in 2020”. Now the twentieth celebration will be postponed until the year 2022. (“We Celebrate Our 20th in 2022” still rolls off the tongue nicely.)
The event will still be just as spectacular! Plans are underway to have all four homes in town for a true “Walking Tour”. Prepare yourselves to celebrate the “Roaring 20’s” with a secret speakeasy! (place to be announced closer to the special event.)
The Mott building is still open for tours, but by appointment only. Anyone wishing to visit the wonderful collection of items may contact Debbie Smith at 330-389-1859. Masks will, of course, be recommended for the safety of all.
JAGHS would also like to let all members know that general meetings are cancelled until further notice. We hope that this pandemic ends soon and that everyone stays healthy.
