On Thursday, May 11, 2023, James Jay Leet Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His legacy will live on in those who knew and loved him.
J.J. was born on October 1, 1947, in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of the late James H. and Martha (Waite) Leet. He was a graduate of James A. Garfield High School in 1965 and the attended Kent State University. He was a member of Ravenna Assembly of God and had previously served his church as a deacon.
A lifetime Freedom Twp.-Mantua area resident and was the owner-operator of Leet Wire Assemblies Inc. J.J. diligently served his community as a Freedom Twp. Trustee for 32 years, and also served on the fire board of the Garrettsville-Freedom-Nelson Fire Board. He will be remembered as a man was always willing to help others in any way possible.
On January 6, 1973, he married his beloved wife Bridgett (Holleran) Leet, who survives at home. Also surviving are his devoted children James J. (Megan) Leet Jr. of Kent, Thomas Leet of Cleveland, Heather (Steve) Minor of Mantua, Elizabeth (Frank) Sanchez of Cuyahoga Falls, and Faith (Ron) Lilly of Cleveland. Additionally, his cherished grandchildren Steven and Caitlyn Minor, Hayden and Ethan Leet, and Simon and Isabella Sanchez survive.
He was preceded in death by his father and his mother Martha Barker. A memorial service to Celebrate His Life, will be Monday, May 22, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at the Ravenna Assembly of God., where visitation will be held from !0:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Beck. Final resting place will be at Hillside Cemetery, Shalersville Twp., Ohio.
