It’s Winter – So Where Are the Bees?

1858

Honey bees overwinter in social togetherness inside their hives, keeping each other warm.  But most bees are solitary or at least have a solitary part of their life cycle – how do they survive all alone through the deep freeze of Ohio winters?  How can we help them hibernate so they’ll emerge ready to pollinate our crops and gardens?  Volunteer Pollinator Specialist, Bob Heath, will answer these questions and share how we can aid our solitary bees by providing the right overwintering habitat and materials. Learn more  on-line from the comfort of your home on February 24 from 7-8 pm.

The link to the zoom webinar will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.  Register at the Portage County Park District website https://www.portagecounty-oh.gov/portage-park-district/events/50401
