Hiram – At their last meeting, Village Council passed several pieces of legislation. Among them, council approved Resolution 2020-33, a resolution submitting the question of renewing an existing tax levy to village voters.

In addition, council also approved Resolution 2021-02, authorizing the Village Administrator to submit an application for the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) program for capital improvements to Hinsdale Street and Winrock Drive. Repairs include catch basin replacement, storm sewer work, curb repair, and paving work.
It’s important to note that during this time of restrictions, local businesses, including Gionino’s Pizzeria, Goodnight’s Kitchen & Bath, the Hiram Inn, Hiram House Salon & Day Spa, and Maggie’s Donuts are open for business and appreciate support from the community.

In other news, recent renovations to the first floor of the Hiram College Library include the installation of the Clocktower Café, a self-service convenience store. Now open, Café offers cold and barista-style beverages, fresh sandwiches, wraps, fruits, vegetables, and salads for a convenient grab-and-go dining option. To pay for items, guests may use a credit or debit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay, or the 365Pay App at the Café’s self-service kiosks.

The Village’s Economic Development Committee will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 pm. Finance/Safety Committee will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, February 23rd at 6 pm. The next regularly scheduled council meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 7 pm; visit hiramvillage.org for details on how to connect to any of these meetings via Zoom.
