Hiram Historical Society Hosts Annual Fundraising Dinner: An Evening of Community, Celebration, and Support

The Hiram Historical Society invites the community to its Annual Fundraising Dinner, An Evening of Community, Celebration, and Support, on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Hiram Christian Church Hall. The evening begins with an optional Garfield Walking Tour at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner and programming from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

This year’s event offers guests a chance to step back in time with a professionally prepared 1880s-style White House dinner created by acclaimed chef Larkin Rogers. The program will feature Deb Weinkamer, performing in character as First Lady Lucretia Garfield, with a presentation on the Garfield family’s years in the White House. Musical entertainment will be provided by harpist Ellen Eckhouse.

Event Details:

• Date: Sunday, September 21, 2025

• Time: Dinner 5:00–7:00 p.m. (optional walking tour at 4:30 p.m.)

• Location: Hiram Christian Church Hall (walking tour begins at HHS Century House)

• Tickets: $65 per person — includes tour, dinner, program, and entertainment

Special Highlights:

• Premiering the Garfield Walking Tour of Hiram (optional, 4:30 p.m. at Century House)

• 1880s-style White House dinner prepared by Chef Larkin Rogers  (we can not serve alcohol but you can bring your own)

• First Lady Lucretia Garfield presentation by Deb Weinkamer

• Harp music by Ellen Eckhouse

Proceeds from the dinner will support the Society’s mission to collect, preserve, and share the history of Hiram, as well as maintain the historic Century House and newly restored Century Garden.

Your presence at our annual fundraising dinner not only helps preserve Hiram’s history but also ensures that we can continue to host meaningful programs like The Garfield Flag and other thought-provoking community events.
