Hiram College’s annual Giving Day was a tremendous success, surpassing its $450,000 fundraising goal and demonstrating the unwavering strength and generosity of its community. This year’s campaign raised an impressive $538,578, exceeding last year’s total of $429,178 and reflecting the deep commitment of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. As Hiram celebrates its 175th anniversary, this year’s Giving Day took on special significance, serving as a testament to the College’s enduring legacy and bright future.

Over the course of 24 hours, the Hiram community rallied together to support initiatives that directly enhance the student experience. Contributions from this year’s Giving Day will help fund student scholarships, academic programs, and campus improvements, ensuring that Hiram continues to offer a transformative education for generations to come. The outpouring of support underscores the impact of philanthropy at Hiram, where gifts of all sizes combine to create meaningful opportunities for students.

“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown by the Hiram community,” said Robert E. Bohrer II, Ph.D., president of Hiram College. “This year’s Giving Day was not just about reaching a fundraising goal—it was about demonstrating a shared commitment to the College and its students. Every donor played a role in strengthening Hiram’s future, and we are deeply appreciative of the generosity that continues to define our community.”

The success of Giving Day reflects Hiram’s close-knit and dedicated supporters. This momentum is further reinforced by a transformational $1 million gift from Trustee Larry DeYoung ’69 and his wife, Joyce ’69, a generous investment that will provide long-term support for the College’s mission and strategic priorities. Their commitment, alongside the many gifts made on Giving Day, will help ensure that Hiram remains a place of innovation, opportunity, and academic excellence for years to come.
