Garrettsville – In celebration of our being beneath Harry Potter’s spell for the past 20 years, school age children are invited to attend classes at Garrettsville Library’s “extension branch” of The Hogwarts School of Wizardry for one evening on Wednesday, October 24, beginning promptly at 6:00 pm. Open enrollment for this event has already begun and it runs through Monday, October 8. Prospective students must be registered by this date, as acceptance letters are being sent by owl post. Please note, there will be no late enrollment for this event. Only 45 students will be allowed to participate in this special event and registration is required, so register early. Parents may enroll their child or children in-person during their next visit to the library or by phone at 330-527-4378, and they are encouraged to wear their own wizardry outfit.
Prospective students must meet certain criteria to attend “class” such as: Children must be school age, available for school’s orientation on same date, must present train ticket upon their arrival (which will be mailed with acceptance letters), and children should be dressed in their wizardry robes or other appropriate school attire. Course material will include basic instruction in using wands, making potions, a charm class, and each student will receive a basic spell book. Also, light refreshments of Butterbeer will be served.
