Mantua – At the Mantua Historical Society’s May meeting, the members brought in World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam era memorabilia from their families, to share with guests and each other in honor of Memorial Day. Cara Broemsen, a guest, is seen looking over some of the display.
The Society’s next meeting will be on Sunday, June 9th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Mantua Center Christian Church’s sanctuary, which is located on the historic Mantua Center Green (at S. R. 82 and Mantua Center Road). General James A. Garfield, portrayed by Wayne Enders, will be present to speak as a newly elected congressman from northeast Ohio, a retired major general and a past president of Hiram College. Our meetings are free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
