Geauga SWCD’s Painted Rain Barrels Keep Conservation Flowing!

993

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) wishes to thank everyone who participated in our 2025 Rain Barrel Yard Art Campaign.  Five talented artists painted barrels that uniquely reflected Geauga County’s natural, cultural, agricultural, or historical resources.  This year’s artists, masterpieces, and buyers included: Dreamcatcher painted by Julie Bell and purchased by Karen Hillman, Tender Pause at Water’s Edge painted by Yvonne Delgado Thomas and purchased by Howard Bates, Through the Gate painted by Beth Halasz and purchased by Mary Beth O’Neill, Peace painted by Bob Kolcum and purchased by Howard Bates, and Burrowing Buddies painted by Byron Leffler and purchased by Karen Wright.  The sale of the barrels collectively raised $2,240.00!  Proceeds support the Geauga SWCD’s community education programs and the barrels will help conserve thousands of gallons of water in the future.  Thanks to all who participated in this year’s campaign – especially the artists, bidders, and buyers!  For more information on rain barrels, visit geaugaswcd.com or call 440-834-1122.
