The Music ensembles of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church will present an evening of seasonal inspiration on Sunday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at 8223 Park Ave., Garrettsville.
Three bell choirs–Chancel I, Chancel II and Jesu Bells Youth Bell Choir–will be participating, under the direction of Mrs. Jeanette Poole and Mrs Linda Fall. Their selections will be musically complementary to the cantata presented by the Chancel Choir, directed by Jason Fair, with accompaniment by Mrs. Patricia Amor
”Everlasting Light–The Promise of Christmas? ” (Lloyd Larson, Mary McDonald, Jay Rouse, Larry Shackley) is composed of eight musical settings–Everlasting Light, Longing for the Light, My Soul Proclaims, Bethlehem, O Bethlehem, Shepherds and Angels, This Child of Light, This Is Christ the King, Everlasting Light (Finale)–of the age-old, sacred story of Christmas interspersed with readings and incorporating newly-enlightening variations on familiar songs of the season.
The performance is free and open to the public; all are invited to attend and rekindle their Spirit of Christmas by basking in the light, the “Everlasting Light–The Promise of Christmas.”
