Garrettsville SummerFest To Hold Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser This Weekend

Garrettsville – It is January and it is hard to believe the Garrettsville SummerFest Committee is already hard at work looking for ways to improve the largest summer celebration in Portage County, Ohio. This three-day event is jam-packed with live entertainment and music in addition to rides, games, contests, car show, fireworks and more. This year on June 28-30, 2013 we will celebrate nine years of great, outdoor fun over a period of three days.

Garrettsville Summerfest 2013: We Are FamilySummerFest is an expensive venture to put on and it is funded by three fundraisers, a car raffle, t-shirt sales and the Scotch Doubles Bowling Event.

This Saturday, January 12, 2013 the committee will kick off their fundraising efforts by hosting a Scotch Doubles Bowling Event at SkyLanes Bowling Alley, beginning at 9pm.

The event is open to bowlers and non-bowlers of all ages. The cost for bowlers is $40/couple, non-bowlers $13 a person and it includes three games of bowling, shoes, (for bowlers) door prizes, pizza, draft beer, and soda. They will also have a Chinese auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  The proceeds from the Scotch Doubles Event go to fund Garrettsville SummerFest.

Each year the Garrettsville SummerFest Committee donates a portion of the proceeds from the festival to a local charity. This year they have chosen to donate the proceeds from the festival to the Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard (NGCC). The food cupboard serves families residing in the James A. Garfield District.

So let’s break out of the winter doldrums and help raise some money for two great causes, Garrettsville SummerFest and The NGCC. The money raised for SummerFest will ultimately benefit the NGCC and your neighbors.

Garrettsville Summerfest is the largest festival in Portage County, traditionally held the fourth full weekend in June at the intersections of State Routes 88 & 82 in beautiful, downtown Garrettsville. More information can be found at www.garrettsvillesummerfest.com
