Garrettsville Nutrition Under New Management

Garrettsville – If you stopped by Garrettsville Nutrition on Main Street this week, you may have been disappointed to see the shop has been closed. What you may not know is that when the shop re-opens next week — on Wednesday November 2nd – it does so under new management. When new owners Adam and Jill Andrikanich (pictured above) reopen the space, they will have done some minor renovations to add additional seating, restrooms, and public WIFI to make the space more comfortable and inviting. “It’s our goal to make it a community hang out,” Jill noted.

The couple returned to the area nearly 10 years ago to be near family; Adam is a veteran of the Marine Corps. Their children are currently enrolled at JAG schools in the second and ninth grades. Both Jill and Adam are JAG alumni, Jill since kindergarten and Adam since grade three. The local couple is actively involved in JAG Schools, with Jill involved on the All Sports Booster Board and Adam involved in coaching youth baseball.

Adam had been a regular at Garrettsville Nutrition, where he developed a friendship with former owner, Greg (Brown). When the opportunity came to purchase the local business, Adam jumped at the opportunity. “Growing up, I always wanted a business on Main Street,” he added. Jill was ready to make a job change, burned out from working at a nursing home throughout the pandemic. “The timing was right,” she agreed. “Our family is here. Our friends are here. It just made sense.”

While the product offerings — Herbalife meal replacement shakes and herbal teas — will remain the same, the Andrikanich’s plan to streamline the menu to make it more convenient and user-friendly. “We learned that that most often, weekly drink specials and posted recommendations have greatest appeal to customers, since we have a better idea of which combinations work best. However, for those looking to create personalized blends, the 60-item ingredient menu will be listed alphabetically to make ordering more convenient. The formulations are soy-based instead of dairy, with soy-free and gluten free options for those with dietary restrictions.

In addition, the shop will add a seasonal rotation of hot drink options, including protein coffee, protein hot cocoa, and a variety of teas with healthy additives like aloe and collagen. Providing more than just a caffeine fix or a sweet treat, a typical shake provides 24 grams of protein and 21 grams of vitamins, providing more health benefits than an energy drink from a can. This makes them better alternatives than junk food or energy drinks many students and athletes enjoy after practices or events.

Future Garrettsville Nutrition plans include developing partnerships and opportunities within the schools and athletic programs to introduce students and families to Garrettsville Nutrition’s variety of products. Garrettsville Nutrition (8126 Main Street) will be open Monday through Friday from 7 am until 5 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am until 3 pm.
