Garrettsville – A re-organizational meeting of the Garrettsville Ladies Cemetery Association will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7 pm at the Historical Society building on Main St. In Garrettsville.
This organization was formed in 1927 by residents who were interested in the “preservation and and beautifying of our cemeteries in cooperation with the Board of Cemetery Trustees.”
This group of residents has, in the past, met sporadically with the intent of carrying out the original objective, but has been totally inactive for several years. New interest has been shown by the historical society and local residents in looking into the repair of markers in the Baptist Cemetery on Maple Ave. and other projects to preserve our early history.
All interested parties, and anyone with suggestions for the care of the Baptist Cemetery are welcome to attend on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7pm at the Historical Society.
