Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

8098

Jennifer Bowen, from the Mantua office of Edward Jones Investments and a member of the Garrettsville Chamber of Commerce, zoomed in to present information on putting Performance into Perspective, as regards a family’s or an individual’s financial objectives. This leaned on the three R’s : Relevant, Realistic, Reviewed, when it comes to determining what is needed, what is the market environment and performance evaluation; market index is not necessarily aligned with individual goals. Social Security adjustments also figure into advance planning. So do inflation and risk tolerance. Children and retirement cannot be left out of the equation. Looking ahead and making adjustable plans for what lies around the corner are key to being able to maintain a lifestyle that can put some style in life, no matter what.

Of local interest is the upcoming Road Apple Roubaix, coming up on March 3. As with nearly everything else, Covid-19 is shaping plans but the event is a “GO”. Rotary and InterAct kids looking for service hours are gearing up to offer a Bike Rinse (Those roads get kinda muddy) on High St. at the completion of the race.  More details later.  The semi-annual Roadside Clean-up is on hold with the ODOT–maybe later in the year. Tom Collins has applied to the Kent Environmental Council for a grant to do a pollinator garden affiliated with the terminus of the Headwaters Trail in Garrettsville. The Baptist Cemetery Restoration Project, in conjunction with the James A. Garfield Historical Society’s Village Walk, looks more and more like a “GO” too.

Never a dull moment in Rotary.
