Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

2011

On the eve of snowfall, the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary met a’la Zoom to discuss the following topics :

The club is searching for Zoom speakers to enliven the meetings and, possibly, to embark upon an interview format, visiting local sponsors of the group’s activities and other local businesses and individuals. Video interviews would then be posted on the Rotary Facebook page and available to the general public to get acquainted with the community. Some college students might be involved, some John Crawford might be involved. It could be informative as well as entertaining. More on that soon. The club is considering creating a new budget, inasmuch as the disruption of normal activities has removed some of the usual budget items, i.e. exchange student, RYLA; Rotary scholarships will still be awarded. There was discussion of the ongoing cemetery project including both the Baptist Cemetery and Park Cemetery. Plans are evolving. The village Christmas decorations are aging and will need replacement or
refurbishment…possibly a Rotary-assisted goal?

A thank-you from Kathy Deyoung was read. Santa-man Mike Keas was contacted and expressed regret and understanding about the cancellation of the Gift Delivery Project for 2020. The sleigh will be rested and ready for its next outing…whenever.

Roger Angel participated from Florida, where the temperature will be in the 70’s.

It’s all good.
