Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

2861

Karen Bordonaro, assistant district governor for Rotary District 6630, zoomed into the July 13, 2020 meeting of the Rotary Club of Garrettsville-Hiram. Here’s what she was able to see and hear:

There was a review of the letter to be going out to prospective ( and long-time reliable) sponsors of the annual Reverse Raffle in light of the current Covid-19 situation. The missive outlines levels of support and led to discussion of possible modifications to such things as the number of tickets sold, cash prizes, cut-off dates, various additions and corrections. More recognition of sponsors for their support of all Rotary projects across the year was enthusiastically endorsed; they are part of the community activism made possible by their support. Also raised as a possibility was a Fall Mum Sale, possibly in conjunction with the Garrettsville Farmers’ Market and Eagle Creek Growers. More on that later. The on-line presence needs care and feeding to adequately showcase local Rotary activities (another opportunity to recognize sponsors). The remaining grant money has arrived and must be spent (Oh dear). Food Cupboard and Snack Pack shopping coming up. Condolences to the Collins family for the loss of one of their own.

Specifics for the ages of Nicaraguan kids to be served in the Shoebox Project have arrived–challenge.

Happy Bucks were offered for a new house on the market, the end of tax season and a Costco experience.

The program presentation was by Iva Walker on the recent finals of the Miss Agriculture USA competition.
It’s all good.
