Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

1658

Duo-Zoom was the order of the day for the June 8, 2020 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club.  Members were participating in person and on-line.  Here’s what they discussed: Grant requirements were met and the check to the Rotary Foundation was confirmed.  Deb Blake presented information  from her PETS meetings having to do with group assessment, new members and vibrant speakers/programs.  An individual questionnaire for members was part of the day’s activities and was thoughtfully considered, bringing up other topics such as meeting time  rotation, highlighting local businesses and other relevant subjects.  The Snack Pack program continues but some changes in contributing protocols may be coming up.  A new grant  for paving at the trailhead of the Headwaters Trail across from the Sky Plaza was applied for and accepted.  Another major consideration for the club–as for many others–is a reconsideration of the group’s annual fundraising activity, the Reverse Raffle in November. Should there be a new event?  Can the Reverse Raffle be redesigned?  Can everything go on-line?  Drive-in steak dinner w/ on-line auction?  The discussion and idea-seeking will continue.  Happy Bucks went into the kitty for the wonderful weather for a Sunday trip, for completed weed-whacking, for an amazing real estate listing, for family gatherings and for new frontiers in EB.

It’s all good.
