Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

767

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotarians spent some of their meeting on July 22, 2019 checking out the newly-purchased projector and considering the purchase of a new screen.

They also gave notice of a change of the next week’s meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, July 30 in the Cellar Door Coffee Shop from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., featuring Rotarian Mike Keas presenting pictures and narration of his recently-completed adventure going down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon–a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list trip. This is a free program and the public is invited to come and enjoy the ride…and the coffee.

Also on the agenda : the Shoebox Project for schooling children in Nicaragua is proceeding apace, with shopping for the boxes’ contents underway and donations being accepted. Delores McCumbers related her night at the well-attended Cleveland Indians’ Rotary Night ball game, including a raffle win to top off the excellent experience. Ted Lysiak mentioned that the NGCC will be having a cook-out. Tom Collins chipped in that new playground equipment will be coming to the Park Ave. park. The Steak Fry will be held on August 12. The Headwaters Trail trailhead has received new paving; more improvements are in the discussion. Considerable discussion about possible new projects and members rounded out the meeting. “Happy bucks” came in recognition of a splendid wedding event over the weekend, a family reunion, and the array of prospective programs which might be involving the group.

It’s all good.
