Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

1482

First meeting of the month is the business meeting for the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club and this is what they did for April Fool’s Day:

No foolin’, landscape architect Alexia Paul presented   design possibilities for the Headwaters Trail project, including concept and implementation of planting on the site featuring deliberate planting with a purpose, focused on attracting birds and butterflies using native plants which, since they are adapted to this region, should require the least amount of chemicals and labor. This includes ornamental planting with an eye to ecological value–stewardship planting, as it were; to contribute to an attractive and healthy habitat.  Purposeful planting with native plants tends toward naturalization and low maintenance on site.  Contributing to the presentation was Stephanie Galayde, sister and contributing local factor of Semiramis Studio, LLC, a full-service landscape architecture firm.  The Headwaters Trail trailhead could wind up being a magnet for birds & butterflies as well as bikers, hikers and appreciators of “nature by design.”

Happy $ were contributed in recognition of a successful work project, a successful Night at the Races, the opening of the NGCC at  the ?Y?, good real estate sales, the Indians’ home opener and a weekend of successful shopping and picking up Natalie, the exchange student.

It’s all good.
