Guest Groundhog Buckeye Chuck did not show up but the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary soldiered on, doing the following business:
• Review of the budget–specifics on income, spending, projects, with an eye to planning and the general outlook for community activities.
• The Centennial Celebration–invitations to who and how many. The venue is still under investigation; consideration of the number, the location and the parking being part of the picture.
• The G-H Rotary will be joining with the Garfield Education Association to sponsor residential signs recognizing GHS seniors.
• The Road Apple Roubaix will be coming to town on March 7 (first Saturday in March). G-H Rotary will be joining to welcome the group of hard-core bikers to town. They make donations to local groups, shop in local businesses, eat in local establishments (You can hear ‘em at Slim- n-Jumbo’s, among other places). G-H R will again be offering a bike wash for the good-natured road warriors, hopefully with the help of InterAct students from GHS.
• Historical photos were circulated.
• Happy Bucks came in for finally cleaning up Christmas stuff, learning to play dominoes, a talk with past exchange student Natalie, and a return from Panama.
• It’s all good.
