Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

981

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary entertained–and were entertained by–painter and muralist Dean Olson, who will be working on the latest iteration of the Welcome to Garrettsville mural project, which has been much-delayed but still in sight. He is the principal mover of the Wall Werks Studio doing Faux & Mural Painting Since 1995, “Your Walls Are My Canvas” and is willing to undertake the replacement of the artwork now vanished from the Windham Street bridge abutment, a project which originated with Mark Brady and celebrating the centennial of Rotary in Garrettsville (1926–2026). Weather and time issues will be major considerations in the start and completion of the project but it is ongoing…as is the determination of the location of the “wrap” which was originally to have been placed on the abutment, but ran into technical issues. Local assistance may well be sought for the actual painting when the time comes. Be ready.

Other business included the ongoing lockbox project–professional contributions, information concerning the Reverse Raffle coming in November, ordering for the Dictionary Project covering Garfield, Windham and Amish schools, background check completed on advisors for the new Chess Club to be meeting starting in October, inquiries about prospective new members, plans & estimates for playground and/or splashpad projects.

Happy Bucks came in for the speaker and his info, a new grandson, a new great grandson, family guests, a successful hunting expedition, a gorgeous weekend.

It’s all good.
