Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

1020

The July 7, 2025 meeting of Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary was held in the air-cooled confines of Cal’s II, Sky Plaza, at noon to install new president, Trish Danku-Carlson and induct board members Jeff Drebus, Casey Timmons and Sherri Collins. Installation was conducted by District Governor Bob Oborn, who also spoke on new directions in Rotary, including the evolution of the organization, promotion of membership focus and new thinking on drug addiction and treatment involving available agencies and reduction of stigma. After a brief review of the ‘24-’25 year, Casey Timmons was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for contributions to Rotary.

Trish Danku-Carlson’s inaugural address focused on new thinking and established goals, exploring new approaches and economies and classifications to accomplish advancement for all. “Service Above Self” is not just a slogan.

In regular business, the topic of the centennial project came up (G-H Rotary celebrates 100 years in 2026), as well as the lockbox project, meetings for the November Reverse Raffle, the mural adjustment and completion. A card circulated for John Wolfe who has been laid low recently.

Happy Bucks came in for the DG visit, son’s selection to Portage Sports, grandsons a-plenty, a grandson visit, a return from a fun vacation, a good meeting.

It’s all good.
