Spring threatened to break out during the March 3, 2025 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary. In celebration, the following topics received consideration:
• Very successful–if frozen–RoadApple Roubaix. Proceeds of the Rotary bike rinse will be going to the local Shop with a Hero program. Got good help from the InterAct kids, Good response from the bikers. Good community exposure all ‘round.
• G-H Rotary will be assisting the HopeTown Project with gas hook-up and patio furnishings to advance the operation & training aspects…with goods from a local supplier.
• RYLA–Rotary Youth Leadership Award–will be returning to Hiram College this year; local participation and assistance is being sought for this worthwhile event.
• No meeting on St.Patrick’s Day. Go Green!
• Rotary scholarships will be awarded again this year applications are open.
• Possibility of providing secure lockboxes for residences to be used by first responders was discussed and will receive further consideration as a grant request.
• District 630 has an ongoing project–Soles for Souls–to provide shoes to homeless kids–D. McCumbers is collecting.
• Happy Bucks came in for a son going to Boys’ State,the RoadApple Rinse, parents doing well, a finish of the RoadAppRoubaix, Spring…eventually
It’s all good.
