The July 22, 2024 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary was a mix of somber reflection and celebration. The group mourned the loss of recent past president Mark Brady while also celebrating the imminent departure of Owen Bass, who will be leaving for India as a Rotary Exchange Student for the upcoming year. Owen’s mother, Kim Bass, was among the attendees, adding a personal touch to the gathering.

During the meeting, members discussed the upcoming mural project, which will likely be undertaken by the firm Cleveland Wrap. Details such as color, cost, and preparations are being finalized, with potential for new additions to the design.

Owen shared his exchange pins with the group and was presented with a mini banner, marking his role as a representative of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary. Photos were taken to commemorate the occasion.

The Happy Bucks segment of the meeting highlighted several positive moments, including the arrival of a new nephew, a touching phone call, a good weekend, excitement for Owen’s journey, great weather for golf, and appreciation of the recent open house at the Garrettsville Masonic Lodge. The meeting ended on a high note with members expressing their gratitude and joy for various personal and community milestones.
