Garrettsville Family YMCA Offers Child Care For Area Essential Employees

1968

Garettsville –  The Garrettsville Family YMCA was granted a special pandemic day care operating license and has been able to operate their childcare service for the essential employees in our area. This has provided much needed relief for many parents who are unable to perform their jobs from home.

“We are delighted to provide this service to essential employees,” said Ana Thomas, Vice President of Youth Development at the YMCA of Greater Cleveland. “We greatly appreciate the sacrifices these families are making during this unprecedented moment in time. We want to demonstrate our gratitude by alleviating the stress of finding proper childcare for those that are doing so much. We want our essential workers to be able to assist our community at this critical time with peace of mind, knowing their children are under good care.”

With the supervision of highly trained professional staff, children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including arts, crafts, games and sports. Classwork is also being done to keep up with the homeschooling that will continue for this school year.

Keeping everyone safe is a high priority, COVID-19 prevention procedures are strictly adhered to throughout the day.

This past Sunday, WEWS Channel 5 featured our local YMCA on their 11 pm newscast.  If you missed it, you view it on their website www.news5cleveland.com
