Garrettsville – The board of directors for the Garrettsville area chamber of commerce met last week to set the 2020 schedule of events and establish membership rates for the upcoming year.

New for this year was the addition of a home-based business category. The board feels that many home-based businesses could find a great benefit from networking with other community business members as well as utilizing the marketing power and technological tools available through our Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber office (located at The Villager) receives calls and emails daily from individuals seeking information about our community. While all local businesses are added to our internal referral database, we maintain a yellow-pages style directory of chamber members online and in our official Discover Garrettsville app.

Membership packets have been mailed out TO NEARLY 300 BUSINESSES. The registration and annual dues are due back to the chamber by February 15th . If you did not receive a membership form and would like more information about the chamber, please contact chamber secretary Michelle Zivoder at 330-527-5761.

In February chamber members will have two opportunities to get training on the Discover Garrettsville App which allows members to share news and announcements from your business through the “Discover Garrettsville” mobile app, website, Facebook page and Twitter. Join Ted Lysiak and Ben Coll at Cellar Door for a hands-on training session and meal this February to activate your account and learn how to start posting this year. Available sessions are Friday, February 7th from noon – 1 pm or Tuesday, February 11th from 4-5 pm. Please bring your laptop or tablet and smartphone. You’ll also need access to your email account, and a photo or logo for your business. Please RSVP via email to talysiak@gmail.com.

Residents are encouraged to like the Discover Garrettsville Facebook page, follow our website and download the DISCOVER GARRETTSVILLE mobile app to find out more about the chamber events, area businesses and promotions.
