Garrettsville Area Chamber Sets Dates

Garrettsville – The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce board met earlier in January to set the organizational calender and appoint officers for the coming year. 

After reviewing operating expenses for 2021 the board moved forward with discussion of events for 2022. The following have been scheduled:

  • St. Patrick’s Day Celebration — March 17
  • Discover Garrettsville Promotion  — May 1 – Aug 31
  • Garage Sale Weekend — May 20-22
  • Five Car Cruises — May 28; June 18; July 16; August 13; September 10
  • Scholarship Breakfast — June 1
  • Business Showcase on Buckeye Block — July 14
  • Peach Social at GFN Fire Dept — August 13
  • Christmas On Main Promotion — Nov 1 – Dec 31
  • Small Business Saturday — November 26
  • Clock Tower Lighting  & Santa Claus — November 26

During the organizational portion of the meeting, chamber welcomed Laura Esposito as the new president.  Ted Lysiak has moved into the position of  past president and is joined by Ben Coll – Vice President; Michelle Zivoder – Secretary; Roger Angel – Treasurer;  and board members Rick Patrick, Caitlin Lawless, Jerry Kehoe, Sara Hill, Aaron King and Jennifer Bowen.

Congratulations and thank you to Joann Wilson who won the Chamber Scholarship 50/50 Raffle & donated her winnings back to the Scholarship fund! Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket — this fundraiser allows chamber to award three  scholarships annually to J.A. Garfield seniors who are furthering their education at either a college or trade school. 

Three winners were selected for the Christmas on Main promotion. Congratulations go out to Jill Grimm, Robin Shura and LeeLundblad who will receive “Chamber Bucks” to be spent at Garrettsville chamber member businesses. 

The 2022 Membership packets have been mailed out, if you do not receive a membership packet you can download one at discovergarrettsville.com under the documents tab. 

Chamber’s goal is to promote member businesses while enhancing the economic growth, and quality of life in the Garrettsville area. Whether you’re a business owner or an area resident interested in making a difference in the community — we encourage you to become a member of the Chamber of Commerce and join us in working together to build a strong and successful.

Our first meeting for 2022 will be at 7:30 am on February 2 at Sky Lanes. We hope to see you there!
