Garfield High School Students to Host Tech Help Day for Seniors at Garrettsville Library

49

In a effort to bridge the generational gap and enhance digital literacy, students from Garfield High School will be lending their tech expertise to senior citizens at the Garrettsville Library on Tuesday, November 12th. The event is scheduled from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM and aims to assist seniors with their smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

In today’s fast-paced digital world, technology can often feel overwhelming, especially for those who did not grow up with it. This initiative allows students to share their knowledge and provide one-on-one support, helping seniors navigate various tech-related challenges. Whether it’s sending a text message, setting up social media accounts, learning to use features on phones, etc, the Garfield students are eager to help.

Participants are encouraged to bring their devices and any specific questions or tasks they would like assistance with. The library will provide a welcoming environment for this intergenerational learning experience, fostering connections and understanding between students and seniors.

This tech help day is an initiative by the Garrettsville Library and James A. Garfield High School community to engage with local residents and promote digital literacy. The event is free and open to all senior citizens in the area. Registration for the event is limited, be sure to secure your spot by calling the Garrettsville Library at 330-527-4378.
