Students from James A. Garfield High School showcased their musical talents at the “Sounds of the Season” concert held on Sunday, December 10th, in the Iva Walker Auditorium. The event featured performances from various bands, each delivering a repertoire of holiday classics to an enthusiastic audience.

The High School musicians took the stage at 2:00 pm, treating attendees to renditions from well-loved seasonal favorites such as “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” “A Muppet Christmas Carol,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Sleigh Ride.” The performances displayed the students’ dedication and musical prowess, captivating the audience with their festive selections.

Following suit, the combined 7th and 8th grade band presented an array of Christmas favorites at 4:00 pm. Their renditions demonstrated their musical growth and commitment, further contributing to the joyful atmosphere of the concert.

Additionally, the Elementary bands exhibited the skills they’ve acquired throughout the year, showcasing their progress to the audience.

Attendees were further entertained by the HS “Black & Gold Swing Machine” Jazz Band during a post-concert reception featuring cookies and hot chocolate donated by the Band Boosters. This provided an opportunity for guests to enjoy lively tunes while celebrating the performances.

For those unable to attend, recordings of the concert are accessible on the JAG Schools Facebook account and the JAG Student Media accounts on Facebook and YouTube, allowing everyone to experience the musical talents showcased by the student performers.

The “Sounds of the Season” concert was a celebration of musical excellence and holiday spirit. The collaborative efforts of students, instructors, and JAG Band Boosters contributed to a successful event, leaving attendees with a sense of joy.
