Garrettsville – The August 14, 2023 meeting was held on Delores McCumbers’ birthday and she ended the gathering with selections from her tasty cake. Preceding that was a report from Owen Bass on his progress toward next year becoming the first local outbound Rotary Exchange student in quite a number of years–applications, meeting with the president of Rotary International, etc.–as well as the idea of InterAct painting the rock at the corner of the Garfield campus to welcome the incoming exchange student this year. Next came a reminder of the annual picnic to be held next week at 6:00 p.m., pot-luck style. More discussion of the update of the Garrettsville mural–prep work needed, village contribution, safety issues, InterAct inclusion, power wash?–will be continued. The Rotary Night with the Cleveland Guardians will be on August 17; a good time should be had by all, in support of “End Polio Now”. Kim Bass will be the program on August 21.
