The September 16, 2024, meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club dealt with upcoming events that have been long in the planning stages.

Documents to be included in the new time capsule were finalized for the ceremony on September 21. The mural producers, Cleveland Wraps, brought up issues such as permissions, safety, and weather to be managed. The dedication of the Tom Collins Rotary Memorial Walking Trail, scheduled for October 6, 2024, is coming into focus; the pavilion is reserved, the balloon arch and decorations are ordered, and finishing touches are being applied. Sponsor/appreciation signs are being discussed, food is being arranged, as are invitations to non-locals (everybody local IS invited), and signage. The possibility of memorial benches is being discussed, as is the idea of kids’ activities. Y’all come.

The Reverse Raffle is ramping up. Sponsors are being sought, flyers will be going out, and the caterer is confirmed. It is a GO.

Happy Bucks came in for a moving date (sad to see the Basses go), a dad out of the hospital, birthdays galore–great grandchild, granddaughters × 2, grandson visit, an excellent evening of service recognition, and the Bombers’ 4-0 record.
