The September 25, 2023 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club had visitors–Owen Bass & Sarrah Masters–and a returnee–John Crawford to swell their numbers and be part of discussions & program.

Delores McCumbers brought information about a possible future program–Bill Starcher, who does interesting/amazing artworks from found objects. Meetings planning the upcoming Reverse Raffle will be continuing; the big date is November 1 and all systems are GO ! Sponsorships are still available. The semi-annual Roadside Clean-up with InterAct members is scheduled for October 13; ODOT will be furnishing bags and sticks. The rescheduled Guardians’ game is coming up.

Sarrah Masters is this year’s RotaryYouth Exchange student at Garfield and she spoke of her experiences so far–Homecoming, joining the basketball program, the contrast between her home city and her adventures here in rural Ohio. A tour of Cleveland city highlights–Playhouse Square, Terminal Tower, etc.–is coming up on her calendar.

Happy Bucks went into the pot for a visit to the Barberton Mum Festival with a daughter, a daughter settling in at school in the U.K., a hubby’s birthday and a long-lost Swedish friend re-connected on Facebook during convalescence.
