Freedom Twp. – The Freedom Township Historical Society is conducting its annual membership drive. Membership is open to anyone interested in our mission of “Preserving, protecting and promoting the rich history of Freedom Township and Freedom School”. Membership categories are divided into YEARLY (individual – $15.00 or family – $25.00) LIFETIME (individual-$150.00 or family-$200.00) and CORPORATE – $100.00. Additionally, memorials may be made in the name of a loved one. Donations are always welcome. A new standing seam green metal roof has recently been installed utilizing funds from a State of Ohio grant. Drive by our one room school at 7276 St Rt 303 to view this marvelous improvement. In the near future our school will be clad in new white vinyl siding – also paid for by State of Ohio grant.
Interior improvements are also continuing. Our unisex handicap restroom is nearing completion. Work to drywall the basement and enclose an historian’s office space is ongoing. In addition to monetary donations, volunteer help is always needed. Our one room school will house the historical society’s museum.
