Fred M. Hukari, 78, passed away on March 13, 2018 with his daughter at his side. Fred was born October 7, 1939 and lived in Garrettsville, Ohio area for 41 years before he moved to Athens, AL in 1985 with his wife.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Hukari. He is survived by his daughter, Terri (Hukari) Kragen of San Diego, CA, and his son Fred A.Hukari of Newton Falls and two grand children, Brian and David also of Newton Falls, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Judy Hukari of Newton Falls, Ohio and other beloved family.

Fred was employed with the General Motors Corporation; he worked in Ohio in the Terex Division and finished his career at the GM Saginaw parts division in Decatur, Alabama. He was a hard worker who extended the utmost in dedicated service until his retirement. When he wasn’t working, Fred was a classic car enthusiast and his favorite pastime was taking care of his beautiful lawn and home. Post-retirement, he remained active with the Shriner’s International, GM Retirees, and volunteered with Athens, Alabama RSVP Program-Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

A memorial service celebrating Fred’s life will be held at a date to be determined in Ohio. Burial will be private.
