Forage + Feather Opens New Location

1082

Forage + Feather, the Mantua-based shop that specialized in handcrafted, local goods, as recently relocated to the historic district of Aurora.
The shop had been previously located in Mantua in the historic granary building. “We loved being in that beautiful, unique space,” Fana explained. “Leaving wasn’t part of our plan,” she noted. But when she learned owners were selling the building, to move her business forward, Forage + Feather needed to find a new location.

Fana and her husband found a potential location, and fortunately, the sale went through without a hitch. As the building owners, they took the opportunity to open the walls, paint, and add decorative flourishes like impactful ceiling tiles, to make the space their own. “It’s been bittersweet to leave Mantua,” Fana shared, “but we feel like we’re right where we need to be.” The shop is owned and operated by four partners: Fana (Blah to Ahh), Sandi Randulic (Winding River Crafts), Monica Stocker (Mo Silver), and Jaqueline Cholley.

Many of the artisans from the Mantua location have moved to the new location, and some new ones have joined the collective. Artists and makers include Chalkin’ With Amber Skye, Cleveland Kilnworks, Honeybee Gardens, Jamie D. Pottery, the M Candle Shop, Michael Krek Photography, Minnieology, the Mostar Honey Company, Old’s Cool, Perfectly Imperfect jewelry, Reclaimed Relics, Stitches and Stowaways, and Unravelled Mamma macramé items.
The new space in Aurora has a more boutique-like feel. And only 10 minutes from home, the new store at 311 East Garfield Road (near the Mason Jar restaurant and Snap Fitness) is easier to reach for many of the shops loyal customers.
