Do you have someone in your life with a developmental disability? Register to bring them to Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve this month as Naturalist Nora Sindelar prepares to tailor an exploration of Geauga County’s incredible variety of insects just for them!
This season’s Inclusive Experience through Geauga Park District is slated for Wednesday, August 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, during which time Nora will lead hands-on activities and a short, accessible walk.
Registration is required for all participants, including caregivers, at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org under Programs & Events, then August 6 on the calendar, or by calling 440-286-9516. Note that the program is fully wheelchair accessible.
“Exploring Nature is a lot of fun, but it can be a little intimidating for some visitors,” Naturalist Nora said. “That’s why we started offering exclusively inclusive programming, which provides a quiet, calm environment to help certain groups of park users join in on the fun. In the past, we’ve offered these kinds of programs to particular school trips and other groups, but a couple years ago we started presenting inclusive programing to the general public. Needless to say, we’re having a lot of fun doing these and exploring the different ways we can all learn and explore.”
