Esta L. Everhart, 102, of Ravenna, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was born on July 23, 1920, in Six Mile Run, PA, to the late Rufus and Elizabeth (nee Barton) Stevens.
She was a resident of Portage County since 1947. Esta’s spiritual life began early and continued throughout her life. She became deeply knowledgeable of the bible, and taught Bible Study classes in the Garrettsville Christian School. In 1983, Esta was named the first woman chaplain for Robinson Memorial Hospital, and in 1990, she received a Baccalaureate degree in Christian Administration, and went on to serve as pastor to several churches in the local area. Upon retirement, Esta volunteered at Robinson Memorial Hospital, working with the chaplain, as well as counseling individuals and groups through the community. She unfailingly shared her faith with all who met her.
Esta will be deeply missed by sons, Nelson (Pat) Everhart of Warren, OH, and Sheldon (Beverley) Everhart of Largo, FL, along with 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur S. Everhart, and daughter, Wendy Everhart.
Visitation to honor Esta was held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service began at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M., with Pastor Sandi Greenberg officiating. Esta was laid to rest beside her beloved Arthur in Windham Township Cemetery immediately after the service.
