Do you have a green thumb and like to display your work? Well if you do then I have a show for you. This year the SummerFest has added a Flower and Garden Show to the venue. The event is sponsored by the Silver Creek Garden Club and the Bay Window.
Exhibitors will need to have entries dropped off at the old Denette’s Designs storefront next to Subway on Main Street between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 22, and arranged to be picked up by Sunday June 24th at 6 p.m. Categories are open to all exhibitor except professional florists; more than one entry per person is permitted per category. All flowers are to be home-grown, with no artificial flowers, foliage, fruits or vegetables are allowed.
The judges will be Master Gardeners from the Portage County Extension Services and exhibits will be judged Friday night. First and second place ribbons will be awarded all other entries will receive a participation ribbons. One “Best of Show” Rosette will be awarded.
Floral Arrangement Categories
Themed Floral Arrangement, “Thanks to Our Troops” An arrangement that illustrates the theme. Limited use of props permitted.
Specimen Cut Flower – A single specimen of any cut flower. Please provide your own container.
Potted House Plant – Entry must have been grown by the exhibitor for at least three months.
Container Garden – This category includes hanging baskets and dish gardens.
Youth, 12 and Under – Flower arrangement
