Grace Shively Ehresman, now of Ravenna, is celebrating her 102nd Birthday! Grace was born on July 3, 1918 at home in Edinburg to Blanche and Orrie Shively. She had one sister, Ethel (Shively) Porter and one brother, Paul Shively. They moved to Windham on Rt. 303 when she was 3 years old. (The house they lived in is still there and she still thinks of it as “Home”!!)
Grace taught elementary school in Windham for a couple of years before she married Robert (Bob) Ehresman, also of Windham, on June 28, 1941. (He passed away on Nov 19, 1996). They lived on Rt. 82 in Windham where their son Ron and daughter Jeanne grew up.
Grace went back to teach 3rd grade in Windham from 1960 to 1968. She still loves hearing from her past students and their families and many friends and relatives.
Grace and Bob moved to Nelson on Brosius Road in 1971 then to Ravenna at Birchwood Manor in 1991. So she can continue to live in her own home with her kitty, Tobie, Grace’s daughter and her kitty, Cuddles, moved in with her to help with day to day activities. So they are together during this awful pandemic and doing well.
Grace’s family also includes son Ron and his wife Donna in Olmsted Township and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Pam (Bob) and their sons Isaac and Sam of Plymouth, MI and Mark (Kim) and children Alice, Ben and Max of Dublin, OH.
Also many nieces and nephews who she is close to and many still live nearby.
Grace and her daughter will have a nice meal and cake for her Special Day alone but it would be so nice to receive calls. She loves receiving cards too.
Thanks to our dear friends for posting on Facebook too such nice messages for Grace. Jeanne is trying to read each and every message to her. She smiles and says to tell you all Hello and THANKS for the birthday wishes. Please Everyone Take Care and Be Safe!!!
