Edward Allen Spencer, age 62 of Garrettsville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born on April 15, 1962 in Ravenna, Ohio to David W. and Inest Lee (Belknap) Spencer, (both deceased).
Ed was a 1981 graduate of James A. Garfield High School and spent his career in Shipping & Receiving, retiring from Pyrotek in 2020. Ed was a man of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and cutting wood. He grew a large garden every year and shared the produce with his family and friends. Ed was a family man and he loved his daughte r, and his grandson Evan was his world.
Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Dean (Carolyn), Keith Dean, Calvin Grant, Jay Hecky and Brenda Dorsey.
He is survived by his daughter , Erika Spencer (Jay Hecky); grandson, Evan Spencer and grandchildren Mason Hecky, Isabella Hecky and Calvin Hecky; siblings, Rose Crews (Bob), Robert Dean (Tricia), and David W. Spencer Jr., (Gail); special friends Jim Wells, Jeff Wells and Glenn Spencer, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather for visitation at Green Funeral Care, 4668 Pioneer Trail, (at the comer of St. Rt. 44), Mantua, Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1-4 p.m.
