Dorothy (Kephart) Watson, 98, of Akron, formerly of Garrettsville, joined her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was born May 23, 1921, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Mabel (nee Kauffman) Kephart.
She was a resident of Garrettsville since 1963. Dorothy was a proud member of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church where she participated in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, Hiram Lunch Bunch and Hiram Knitting Group. She volunteered her time at the Election Board for many years. Dorothy enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Over the years she knit or crocheted hundreds of sweaters, blankets, caps and mittens for Knit for Kids, who distributed them to orphans around the world. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children, Cynthia Reller, and Stephen Watson; grandchild, Vicky Cencelewski: great-grandchildren, Jillian and Haley Cencelewski, and sister Shirley Knox.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Elwood M. Watson in 1992; and siblings Betty Lang and William Kephart.
