Don Lambert, 101, of Windham, OH, departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at University Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born January 21, 1917 in Gip, West Virginia, to Will and Kate Lynch Lambert. Don was the ninth of ten children and the last to pass on.
Don married Rena Minney in October 1939 and were together 68 years until her passing in July 2008. They lived in Gilmer County, WV until they moved to Ohio in 1950 and made their home in Garrettsville, OH. He worked for Polson Rubber and retired after 25 years.
Don was an avid hunter and fisher. He and his close friend, Willard Miller spent countless hours in the woods and on the water, doing what Don loved most. He always had a story to tell and put a smile on your face.
Don is survived by his step-son, Edsel (Louise) Minney, grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Giffen and Tracy (Amy) Minney, great-grandchildren, Justin Giffen (Stephanie Murray), Sarah (Sam) Osborne, Serena Keiser and Emily Minney, Great-great grandchildren, Madison Giffen and Conner Jolley, special friends Willard (Carolyn) Miller and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Rena, he was proceeded in death by his sisters, May Rogers, Edna Norman, Greta King, Bess Conley and Bernice Miller and his brothers, Earn, Fred, Charles and Lee.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH.
